Finally it's here! (Passed I mean :D) After many meeting and discussions, MHS Chess Open was a success :) If you have been reading my blog, remember me saying about Chess Tournament in my previous blog? It was held yesterday at MHS from morning (dawn for the committees) till late evening. It's a fun and exciting event which was participated by many schools in 'Melaka Tengah'.
This section is much like the 'Credits' section.
As for the conduct of the tournament, the committee arrived at the school at 6.30a.m. and started preparing for the tournament. Credits given to:-
Everyone - For the conduct of the tournament and doing the job of an arbiter.
Special Thanks to:-
Ester - For all the paperwork (program book, permission letter & getting signatures), registration and calls made for the tournaments.
Nick & Yeong Sheng - For the PA system (laptop, projector, printer and many more) and help doing the score and printing it out =)
Chun Yian - For handling the money :) and not forgetting the food for the committee (thanks!)
Xing Yi - For helping out in handling the inventory (chess sets and clocks)
Lavnya - For the name tags and registration
Sanjiv - For the trophies and help in doing the score when the rest are taking a break.
Phillip - For the registration and stationeries provided (cellophane tape) and cheering up the place with your repetitive laugh ("hahaha...hahaha...hahaha").
Soon Heng & Bagi - For taking our photo (family photo) and distract us from our duty... Hahaha.... just joking =)
Han Way, Mun Hong, William & Goh - For taking part to proportionate the number of teams in the tournament.
Although there were some complications during the first round, everything went on smoothly in the 2nd round and onwards thanks to everyone. GBS managed to sustain their position as the defending champion by winning again this year. Everyone was tired and exhausted after the tournament but it wasn't that bad in exchange for all the experience and fun.
It was a great and fun day as we joke around even in tense situation. =)
